Definition: 

  • Prohibited calls refer to calls made using a non‑authorized audio device (phone speaker, wireless earbuds, phone audio) while the vehicle is in motion.

  • The 6 PM–1 AM time slot marks the peak of prohibited calls. For most drivers, this period corresponds to the home‑from‑work commute. The return trip home therefore appears to be the moment drivers most often choose to make calls.
